Dee Denton
Author
The character of Nettle Noo was inspired during woodland walks with her daughter in and around their home village in Cheshire. The book grew from their adventures exploring the local lanes, the woods around the village, and the beautiful trails of Delamere Forest. What began as a simple rhyming poem written for her daughter Izzy, became the foundation of the book.
Alongside writing, Dee is the CEO of KidsBank, (registered children's charity 1190234) and she is proud to support their work through donating 50% of all profits from the sale of the Nettle Noo book to KidsBank.
Dee loves running, travelling and new adventures! She is an eternal optimist and true believer in the power of kindness!
Sarah-Leigh Wills
Illustrator
Also known as the ‘Happy Designer’, she has been designing, creating and illustrating children’s books for almost twenty years, with almost a thousand beautifully illustrated books to her credit!
Schooled in graphic design and attaining her degrees at Falmouth University, Sarah-Leigh has won several awards for her creations. In 2007 she founded her own company, Happydesigner.
Having a child-like imagination and thinking and living in pictures, Sarah-Leigh has a unique way of visualising everything she is commissioned to complete. Her creativity and innovation, as well as the fun and energy she brings to every project meant she was the perfect illustrator to bring Nettle Noo and her beautiful world to life.
Jemma North
Copy Editor
Jemma studied Publishing Media at Oxford Brookes University and went on to work in editorial services before becoming an editor at a children’s publishing house. It was here that she had the opportunity to work alongside authors and illustrators to create fantastical worlds and develop concepts, characters and storylines.
Jemma has since swapped copy-editing picture books for checking Van Gogh artwork on notebooks and now works for a publishing house in London as a project editor. She liaises with global brands, museums and artists to create licensed product ranges across gifts and calendars.
Thankfully, Jemma continues to work on many book projects and provided her editorial talents to the story of Nettle Noo. Her expertise helped to shape the original poem into the beautiful story it has become.
In her spare time, she loves to clear her head with a run or walk in the Cotswolds close to where she lives.
